Timo Rannali Prints
Timo Rannali has started publishing his prints again after a couple of years hiatus. We will be re-cataloging his stock as soon as we can (it's a very busy time right now with Xmas gift delivery the priority). Please call us if you don't see a print of Timo's that you require listed as we may simply have not catalogued yet. We have just had news of a new Cecilia Russell word picture that will be in stock just in time for Christmas.
Pop Art Prints
We are broadening our range of pop art today with new prints from Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein plus new limited edition screenprints from contemporary New Zealand pop artists Paul Hartigan and William Harbidge just arrived in stock.
Kathe Kollwitz and Graciela Rodo-Boulanger
We don't just send New Zealand prints all over the world. There are several prints which we now are the only stockists worldwide after the publisher has deleted them from their range. Thanks to the internet we now send prints by Kathe Kollwitz, Graciela Rodo Boulanger or Francis Bacon's Study for Chimpanzee all around the world. However the flip side of this is that we sell out of prints quite quickly, when we were the last stockists of Picasso's Lobster and Cat we sold fifty copies in a few months.
Deletions from our catalogue
Prints that have sold out recently are Colin Wynn's limited edition "Tory Channel", the David Knowles series of figure studies and Joan Clark's print of Gisborne.
When stock is running low we add prints to our endangered prints gallery.
Superb new print of Lake Wanaka by Jeremy Bennett

Prints of Paintings by Gordon Walters
Gordon Walters is easily one of New Zealand's most popular artists. Walters' koru paintings truly deserve the much overused phrase "iconic". Why is it then that we don't have any Gordon Walters prints in stock?
It seems that with the death of Walters in 1995 and Margaret Orbell (Walters' widow) in 2006 the supply of prints to people who appreciate and enjoy Walters paintings without being able to afford an original work is being stopped by the Trustees of the Gordon Walters Estate. Does anyone know why they are taking this stance or have any other information? Please post a comment. We'll update this post as we learn more.

Canvas Prints vs Canvas Transfer
Prints on canvas by New Zealand artists have finally started being published. The prints we have in stock in our new canvas prints gallery are different from earlier "canvas transfer" prints because they are printed directly onto a high grade artist's canvas using pigment inks.
With canvas transfer the print was bonded onto a canvas like backing using a process rather like laminating. This canvas is usually stretched onto a frame in a way that looks like the picture wraps around the edges. We have always offered eg Grahame Sydney, Diana Adams and Barry Ross Smith prints as canvas transfers ready to hang on the wall out of the box. But we are now looking forward to more true canvas art prints being published as the technology improves and customers start to appreciate the step up in quality that comes with printing directly onto canvas.
